IOME Mental Health Counseling in Fort Collins

Welcome to IOME!

It is becoming more clear that women are not getting the self-care they need and deserve. Approximately 12 million women in the US experience clinical depression each year. More notably, from 2005 to 2015, depression rates had risen from 6.6 percent to 7.3 percent.Though a few percentage points might not seem like a big deal, one percent accounts of millions of people, both men and women.
Women are far more at risk of depression and anxiety than men. There are many aspects that could attribute to this fact, including socialization, home life, domestic violence, physical health, employment, and so on.
In IOME, we create a space to address each of these aspects and find healthy ways to find solutions or coping skills to live life to the fullest. Mental health is phenomenally important, no matter what your gender is. Your mental state is responsible for how you feel, how you act, and how you connect with others. If your mental health isn’t where it should be, therapy is one of the best ways to seek help.

What is IOME?

IOME is a holistic self-care therapy approach for women. Though it would be nice if mental health was solely connected to mental factors, how you feel can be affected by your fitness level, social interaction level, and whether you find purpose in your day-to-day life. Mental health, of course, can also be affected by environmental issues as well, such as unhealthy relationships in your life.
Part of what IOME offers is therapy options for women in Fort Collins that cover all the “bases” to achieve positive mental health. For instance, we offer services for your mind, your body, and your soul. How?

Your Personal Self Care Plan

Though other mental health counseling services can offer just verbal therapy services, IOME offers a wider range of services that can help get to the core of your mental health state. For instance, we offer mind, body, and soul services to improve your overall mental health and offer you a great sense of “place.” Many women can sometimes feel lost in their lives, struggling to make a name for themselves, complete in a professional setting, provide for their children, and of course, move on when their children have grown up. Not only this, but women must also come to terms with natural processes, such as child birth, aging, and eventually menopause. The female body goes through many changes, both mental and physical. Due to this fact, your sense of stability can waiver from time-to-time — this is where your self-care plan comes in!
At IOME, you will be assigned a trained supporter, which is a licensed mental health counselor, she will discuss with you your individualized goals and service options. From this discussion, your professional counselor will suggest some self-care treatments and plans that could benefit you and your individual mental health. By meeting with your trained supporter and counselor, you will be able to receive therapy, counseling, coaching, and/or find other services that can benefit your current mental state.
