Sydnie's approach to therapy is eclectic, humorous, and person-centered. She believes everyone is the expert in their own lives and it's an honor to share in their stories. Sydnie recognizes the importance of culture and customs as they relate to identity and strives to create a therapeutic space that is safe and open. Sydnie utilizes CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), SFBT (Solutions Focused Brief Therapy) and Gestalt techniques in her practice, meaning you can expect her to challenge you while also supporting you to problem solve. Sydnie believes that oftentimes people have the answers within themselves, they just need some help to detangle them. 

 

Sydnie is a Colorado Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She earned both her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Northern Colorado. Sydnie works primarily with adults and has the most experience helping populations 65+. Her professional background is in long-term care nursing and social work, and she specializes in grief & loss, chronic illness, life transitions and divorce recovery.
