Penny Kidd is the founder of Pennywise Coaching and serves as a compassionate guide for individuals and couples who want to improve their relationship with money without shame or guilt. With a background of more than 30 years as a social worker, Penny understands that financial stress is rarely just about numbers. Money is often deeply connected to emotions, life experiences, habits, and relationships. Her coaching focuses on helping people develop healthier patterns around money so they can reduce stress, increase confidence, and move toward the life they truly want to build. Penny’s passion for financial coaching began after her own journey of eliminating more than $130,000 of debt, including her mortgage, by 2013. Since then, she and her husband have continued to live debt-free and successfully put their two children through college without student loans. That experience led her to help others learn the same practical systems and mindset shifts that made such a difference in her own life.
For more than 13 years, Penny has worked with hundreds of individuals and families to create simple, sustainable financial systems that align with their personal values and goals. Her work often focuses on helping clients reduce debt, build savings, and create spending plans that support the life they want rather than feeling controlled by money. Penny is particularly passionate about helping women gain confidence with money. With a significant wealth transfer currently happening to women—many of whom may not have traditionally been the primary financial decision-makers—she believes education, support, and empowerment are essential. She also enjoys helping couples improve communication around finances so they can work as a team rather than experiencing money as a source of conflict.
Penny is not a financial advisor and does not sell investments or insurance products. Instead, she provides education, support, accountability, and practical tools that help clients make meaningful progress faster than they might on their own. She believes financial coaching can complement therapeutic work by addressing the practical side of money management while helping clients build confidence and healthier habits around their finances. Penny enjoys collaborating with therapists and other helping professionals to support clients in building both emotional and financial well-being.
When she’s not coaching, Penny enjoys networking and connecting people with the resources, professionals, and opportunities that can support them on their journey.
