Dedra

Dedra is an education, psychology, and counseling professional with over 20 years of experience. Her passion for supporting others, connecting with their strengths, and facilitating new ways of living has always drawn her to this work. In response to a growing curiosity about the connection between the mind and the body, she developed her wellness practices.  Using a collaborative, strengths-based approach, she helps clients identify the unique circumstances that affect their lives.

Dedra is a Licensed Professional Counselor who offers mental health counseling services that address childhood experiences in relationships and personal development for clients.  The areas of expertise she offers include change of life, stress management, identity exploration, trauma, grief, and loss. She strives to prevent more serious mental health conditions from occurring. The purpose of Dedra's work is to empower clients to take action steps that can improve their lives, lead to healthier decisions, and reduce stress.

Dedra's philosophy is based on an optimistic commitment to guiding families and individuals toward mental and emotional stability. Dedra uses a variety of methods to improve her clients' well-being, including practical solutions, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused approaches. As a holistic practitioner, she focuses on physical, mental, and emotional health. It is important for her to embrace the fact that psychology is a constantly evolving field, and she strives to incorporate new ideas and approaches into her clinical practice. In addition to being trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, she has a special interest in trauma.
