Carissa
Carissa offers a warm, relational space for individuals seeking greater wholeness and clarity. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing begins when we feel safe, seen and heard; something she prioritizes in every therapeutic relationship.
Carissa's approach is person-centered, ensuring she honors each client's unique story, autonomy, and capacity for growth. She also draws from Narrative Therapy, guiding clients in exploring the stories they have been told and the ones they tell themselves, while gently uncovering new ways of understanding and moving forward.
Shaped by her journey with mental health, Carissa brings empathy, authenticity, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to begin counseling. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, spiritual questions, or simply longing for something more, Carissa considers it a privilege to walk through it with you.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Moody Bible Institute and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University. When she is not meeting with clients, you can find Carissa enjoying a cup of coffee in the sunshine, crocheting, reading, or spending time in the outdoors.
"Shaming ourselves into change is never the answer… Instead of shaming ourselves into change, can we love ourselves into evolution?" - Erica Diamond
