For 25 years, I ran one of the largest pediatric and mental health centers in my community. Every day, I saw kids come in with anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders. And you know what struck me? The treatments often worked for the kids — but the progress stalled because parents weren’t included. Session after session, I’d watch therapists give their best strategies, only to see the gains unravel at home. Not because parents didn’t care. Not because they were neglectful. But because no one was coaching them on how to join in the process. I’ll never forget one afternoon when a mom looked at me across the desk and said: “Dr. Glassman, I wish someone would coach me the way you’re coaching my child. I feel lost. What about us parents? Who’s helping us?“ That was my lowest moment. Because she was right. Parents weren’t failing their kids — we, the system, were failing the parents. That realization was my turning point. I decided to step away from traditional medicine and become a parent coach. Because kids can only go so far if their parents aren’t equipped to lead the way. My mission now is simple: empower parents with the tools, skills, and mindset to unlock change where it matters most — at home.
